New Features
The latest new version of Microsoft Office marks some of the biggest improvements to the software in the last 10 years, helping computer users get tasks done more quickly and easily. The most important change is the introduction of a brand new 'ribbon'-based interface making relevant tools and functions quick simple to find, plus there are major improvements to graphics creation and document formatting including new open file formats. A reduced-cost home/student version is also now available as OEM software.

New Packages and Installation Procedures
Four different Office packages are now available from Target (see below) however the installation method for system-builders differs substantially from previous versions of Office.

The images for pre-installing Office are available on the Office 2007 OPK (OEM Preinstallation Kit) for a nominal charge, whilst licenses to activate different grades of Office are available as Medialess License Kits (MLKs), which are physical products containing only the license key (and not the disc).

The OPK contains two images, one for Office 2007 Home and Student, and one which contains Office 2007 Basic, Small Business Edition, and Professional Edition (decided based on which product key is provided at installation).
